Offshore winds smooth out the waves, increasing the chances of catching a clean, glassy wave. Over time, wind swells merge into well-groomed waves, making for a fantastic surfing experience.• Warm Water Year-Round: The water temperature averages between 76°F (24.4°C) in March and 81°F (27.2°C) in September, so there’s no need for a wetsuit!• Winds: From May to September, the wind speeds average 14.4 mph, while from September to May, it’s slightly calmer at around 12.3 mph. The offshore winds are gentle, making the waves break predictably, which helps beginners read and ride them more easily.• Ideal Seafloor: Waikiki Beach’s perfect seafloor conditions contribute to its great surf, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable ride for surfers.
